For everyone at home wondering how countries get an Olympic spot or not, I have it all explained here:

At the 2007 Slalom World Championships, the top-finishing 10 countries in C1, 15 countries in K1 and K1W, and 6 countries in C2 are guaranteed Olympic spots. Additionally, the top-finishing country(countries)(which has not already qualified) in each of the regional championship races of 2008 will get a spot as well. This means 2 extra countries from European Championships as well as 1 extra country from the Pan-American Championships, the Oceania Championship, the Asian Championship, and the African Championship. This means that in the 2008 Olympics 16 countries compete in C1, 21 countries compete in K1 and K1W, and 12 countries compete in C2.

The countries that have already qualified are (in order):

C1:
Slovakia, France, Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, Spain, Czech Rep, Russia, and Canada.

K1:
France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, US, Slovakia, Austria, Poland, Czech Rep, Switzerland, Slovenia, Ireland, Canada, and Togo.

K1W:
Germany, Slovakia, Czech Rep, France, Great Britain, Austria, China, Andorra, Spain, Poland, Austria, Russia, Netherlands, US, and Japan.

C2:
Slovakia, France, Italy, Germany, Czech Rep, and China.

What this means:
-United States will have to finish best in the Pan-Ams in C2 in order to send a boat to the Olympics. This means the US C2s will compete against the Canadian C2s for an Olympic spot.
-United States will have to finish better than every other country (except Canada)in the Pan-Ams in C1 in order to send a boat to the Olympics.

Thought someone may want clarification, I certainly needed some!
